HP 466309-001 NC522M Flex10 Switch Module

The HP 466309-001 NC522M is a dual-port Flex10 10GbE switch module designed for BladeSystem c-Class enclosures. It provides two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports with Flex10 technology that allows bandwidth partitioning per port. This module installs directly into the enclosure interconnect bay to deliver high-speed network connectivity for blade servers.

Suits blade environments needing 10GbE Flex10

This module suits administrators deploying HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosures who require dual-port 10GbE uplinks with flexible bandwidth allocation. It is not for users without a compatible c-Class enclosure or those needing different port counts, speeds, or form factors such as standalone rack switches or other interconnect modules.

Questions about this item

How do I decide between the Flex10 module and a standard 10 GbE adapter?

The Flex10 design lets each physical 10 GbE port be divided into multiple virtual NICs, so one module can replace several single-function adapters in a BladeSystem c-Class enclosure.

What does the 10 GbE rating mean when the module is installed in a BladeSystem c-Class chassis?

Each of the two ports delivers up to 10 Gbps of Ethernet bandwidth to the server blade, with Flex10 partitioning handled by the onboard firmware and the Virtual Connect manager.
