Six-Port SATA RAID Controller for Legacy Servers

This HP controller adds six internal SATA ports through a standard PCI slot, enabling RAID 0, 1, 1+0 and 5 across up to six drives. The on-board 64 MB cache assists write performance while the 150 MBps interface matches first-generation SATA speeds. It is aimed at administrators maintaining older rack-mounted systems that lack native RAID capability.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

The plug-in card draws modest power from the PCI bus and relies on passive cooling, so it adds no audible noise to the chassis. Typical operation stays within the slot’s standard power envelope, leaving existing server airflow unchanged. No external power cables or active fans are required.
