Compact 2D Scanner for Retail

The HP Engage 2D G2 Barcode Scanner is built for point-of-sale environments that need a small, reliable device. It reads printed barcodes, mobile wallets and digital coupons to keep checkout lines moving. The scanner works equally well as a handheld unit or fixed in presentation mode. Its slim profile fits tight counter spaces without adding clutter.

Dual-Mode Operation Changes Workflow

Switching between handheld and presentation modes lets staff adapt to each transaction without extra hardware. In presentation mode the scanner sits stationary and reads codes automatically, freeing hands for bagging or cash handling. Handheld mode supports mobile tickets and awkward angles that a fixed unit might miss. One device covers both roles, reducing equipment count at the register.

Durable Build With Simple Connectivity

Designed for daily retail use, the scanner withstands repeated drops and continuous scanning cycles. A single cable connection integrates directly with common POS systems, so setup requires no specialised tools or adapters. The compact housing leaves room for other peripherals on crowded counters. No battery charging or wireless pairing is needed, keeping the station ready all day.
