Enterprise SAS Hard Drive

The HP 818365-B21 is a 2TB 3.5 inch hard drive with a SAS 12G interface and a 7.2K spindle speed. It is built for server environments and supports hot-swap installation. The drive belongs to the Constellation product line and operates at 1000 RPM.

Suited for server storage arrays

This drive fits administrators expanding capacity in SAS-based storage arrays or replacing failed units in compatible HP servers. Buyers who need a drive for a laptop or a non-SAS desktop chassis should look at something else. The 1000 RPM rotation speed also makes it unsuitable for workloads demanding higher IOPS performance.

Interface and form factor decide fit

The SAS 12G connection and 3.5 inch form factor determine whether this drive works in your system. Verify that your backplane or controller supports SAS at 12G before purchase. The hot-swap capability further requires a compatible drive cage.
