HP 830824-B21 DUP RAID controller 12Gb/s SAS 2 GB cache

SKU CH-1QB3-SW6CC MPN 830824-B21 DUP

Provides 12Gb/s SAS RAID control with 2 GB flash-backed cache over PCI Express 3.0 x8

  • 12Gb/s SAS bandwidth accelerates storage throughput
  • 2 GB flash-backed cache protects data during power loss
  • Eight internal SAS ports support dense drive configurations
  • PCI Express 3.0 x8 host interface delivers high-speed connectivity
  • RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and ADM levels provide flexible redundancy

HP Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 RAID controller

The HP Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 is a plug-in RAID controller with a PCI Express 3.0 x8 host interface. It provides eight internal SAS ports through two connectors and includes 2 GB of flash-backed cache memory. The card supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, 1 ADM and 10 ADM for PC and Linux platforms.

Suited for servers needing 12Gb/s SAS connectivity

This controller fits administrators who require 12Gb/s SAS throughput and flash-backed write caching for internal drive arrays. It is not intended for systems lacking a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot or for deployments that need external SAS ports. Buyers who want more than eight internal lanes should look at a different adapter.

Standard PCIe 3.0 x8 installation process

The card installs into any compatible PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot and connects to backplanes via the two internal SAS connectors. Flash-backed cache eliminates the need for a separate battery module. A common issue occurs when the server BIOS or firmware does not recognise the controller without a Gen10 platform update.
