A 24-port PoE+ switch with four SFP+ uplinks for powered devices and high-speed aggregation
The HP Aruba 2930F switch provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+ support for powering access points, cameras and phones. Four additional SFP+ uplink ports handle aggregation traffic. The unit is new and suits small to mid-size wired networks needing converged power and data.
Replacing a non-PoE switch eliminates separate injectors and reduces cabling for powered devices. Moving from Fast Ethernet uplinks to the SFP+ ports increases uplink bandwidth for server or core connections. The jump is worthwhile when device count or bandwidth demand exceeds the current switch capacity.
The switch fits a standard rack and connects to a core router or firewall via the SFP+ uplinks. PoE+ budget powers attached endpoints directly, freeing wall outlets and simplifying cable runs. Management features support VLANs and QoS for traffic segmentation.
