Aruba 6100 12-port PoE switch

The Aruba 6100 is a Layer 2 manageable Ethernet switch with twelve Gigabit PoE ports and two 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks. It suits small offices or branch deployments that need powered device connectivity and modular expansion.

Thermals noise and power

The unit draws 21.90 W at the wall while delivering up to 139 W of PoE budget across its RJ-45 ports. A single internal power supply handles both system and PoE loads without external bricks.

Bundled expansion slots

Two SFP+ slots accept 10 Gigabit optical or copper transceivers for uplink flexibility. The 1U wall-mountable chassis includes rack ears so the same hardware fits a cabinet or a wall bracket.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 6100 switch in a rack and which orientation step is often missed?

Secure the 1U chassis with the supplied brackets so the 1.7" height aligns with the rack rails; the step often missed is tightening both front and rear screws to prevent the 6.13 lb unit from sagging.

What maintenance will the PoE power supply need over time?

The single installed power supply delivers the 139 W PoE budget; plan to replace it if fan noise rises or if the 21.90 W base draw climbs noticeably under load.

What throughput limit appears first when all 12 PoE ports run at 1000 Mbps continuously?

The 139 W PoE budget caps simultaneous full-power delivery across the 12 RJ-45 ports before the 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks become a bottleneck.
