HP AW555A 2TB 7200RPM 3.5in SAS HDD accessory

SKU CH-935W-643HQ MPN AW555A

A 2 TB, 7200 RPM SAS hard drive in a 3.5 in form factor for enterprise storage arrays

  • 2TB capacity stores large datasets
  • 7200RPM rotation speed delivers fast data access
  • SAS interface supports dual-port 6G connectivity
  • 5-inch form factor fits standard drive bays
  • New condition ensures reliable out-of-box operation

Enterprise Storage Drive

The HP AW555A is a 2TB 3.5in SAS hard drive rotating at 7200RPM. It is intended for servers and storage arrays that require dual-port 6G connectivity. Home desktop builders cannot use this drive because standard motherboards lack the necessary SAS host bus adapter.

Interface Constraints

The SAS 6G interface delivers a maximum theoretical throughput of 6Gb/s per port. Actual sustained transfer rates are lower and limited by the 7200RPM mechanical speed. Systems without a dedicated SAS controller or backplane will not recognise the drive at all.

Build and Mounting

The 3.5in large form factor fits standard enterprise drive bays and hot-swap trays. Dual-port connectors provide path redundancy for continuous operation in RAID configurations. The drive is supplied as a bare unit without brackets, cables or mounting screws.
