DLTtape IV cartridge capacity

This HP DLTtape IV cartridge provides 40 GB native capacity and 80 GB compressed capacity for backup workloads. It is supplied as a single pack for immediate use. The media is designed for sequential data storage and archival tasks. It suits environments that rely on DLT tape libraries or standalone drives.

Compatibility with DLT drives

The cartridge works with DLT 4000, DLT 7000, DLT 8000 and DLT1 drives as well as libraries such as the StorageWorks ESL9198 and ESL9236. It is not suited for users who need higher native capacity or modern interfaces like LTO or disk-based backup. Buyers without a compatible DLT drive cannot use this media.

40 GB native / 80 GB compressed capacity

The decisive specification is the 40 GB native and 80 GB compressed capacity rating. This determines whether the cartridge meets your backup window and retention requirements. Verify that your drive supports DLTtape IV formatting before purchase. No other specification overrides this capacity limit.
