HP LTO Ultrium 3 Data Cartridges

HP C7973AL cartridges use LTO Ultrium 3 magnetic tape technology to provide 400GB native and 800GB compressed capacity per unit. The pack contains 20 individually labelled data cartridges ready for archival or backup workflows. Each cartridge is qualified for HP StorageWorks and non-HP Ultrium tape drives.

Integration with tape libraries and drives

The cartridges fit any LTO Ultrium 3 drive or library slot without adapters. They free up disk space by moving cold data to offline media that can be stored off-site. The media supports a sustained backup rate of 576GB per hour to minimise the backup window.

Suited for long-term retention and compliance

Organisations needing removable, air-gapped storage for regulatory retention or disaster recovery will find the format appropriate. Buyers who require higher single-cartridge capacity or faster transfer rates should evaluate newer LTO generations. Environments without an LTO 3 drive cannot use these tapes.
