Purpose and Audience

The HP CE980A is an ink collector unit designed for the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5520 printer. It captures excess toner during printing to keep the device running cleanly. IT managers and office administrators order this supply to maintain consistent output quality in high-volume environments.

Who Should Buy and Who Should Not

This unit suits teams that operate the CP5520 and need a genuine replacement to avoid print defects and downtime. Buyers who use a different printer model or who require a toner cartridge rather than a waste collector should look at other supplies.

Waste Toner Capacity

The collector holds roughly 20 units of waste toner before it must be replaced. When the printer signals that the unit is full, continued printing is blocked until a new collector is installed. Planning replacement around this threshold prevents unexpected interruptions.
