Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This suits professionals needing a portable 3.92 lb Windows 10 Pro machine for office applications and web work. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics, or more than 8GB of memory should look at other models.

240GB SSD capacity decides fit

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 240GB SSD. If your workload fits within that space, the EliteBook 840 G1 delivers a ready-to-use business laptop; if you need more storage, this unit will not meet the requirement.
