Business-ready 14-inch FHD laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 delivers a 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 display in a silver chassis. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles everyday visual tasks.

Suits mobile professionals needing maximum factory

The 32 GB DDR3 configuration hits the platform ceiling, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. Buyers who want user-expandable memory or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. The non-touch FHD panel keeps weight and power draw low for travel.

Fixed 32 GB DDR3 at the system limit

Two memory slots are populated to reach the 32 GB maximum supported by this hardware. Shoppers who anticipate needing more than 32 GB of RAM cannot expand this unit and must choose a different platform.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern and thickness does the 14.0" chassis accept for an M.2 NVMe drive?

The laptop uses a 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD; the slot follows the standard M.2 2280 keying for a single-sided module.

Which screw must be removed before seating the DDR3 memory modules in the two SO-DIMM slots?

Loosen the captive Phillips screw on the bottom cover, lift the panel, then press each 32GB DDR3 stick firmly until the side clips click.

When will the 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD likely need replacement under typical write workloads?

A modern PCIe NVMe drive at this capacity typically reaches its rated endurance after several hundred terabytes written, which is years of normal use.
