Business ultraportable with high memory

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-6300U processor running at 2.4 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SATA SSD, running Windows 10 Pro. The non-touch IPS panel has a 1366 x 768 resolution with LED backlighting. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the display output.

Mobile professionals needing multitasking headroom

This machine suits users who run many browser tabs, office suites and remote-session windows simultaneously and benefit from the generous 32 GB RAM allocation. Buyers who want more storage for large local media libraries or project archives should look at a different configuration. The single 128 GB drive also limits anyone needing dual-drive redundancy or separate OS and data volumes.

32 GB DDR4 in a dual-core ultrabook

The standout specification is the 32 GB of DDR4 memory paired with a dual-core 2.4 GHz processor, a combination rarely found in this chassis class. It removes the usual memory ceiling for multitasking workloads while keeping the physical footprint and port selection of the standard EliteBook 840 G3.

Questions about this item

What are the physical dimensions of the 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD so I can confirm it fits the slot?

The 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD uses the standard 2280 form factor that matches the EliteBook 840 G3 internal slot.

Which screw size secures the M.2 SSD during installation, and what is the common mistake?

A single M2 × 3 mm screw holds the drive; the frequent error is leaving the screw out after seating the module.

When should the 32 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded instead of adding more?

The 32 GB DDR4 memory already occupies both SO-DIMM slots, so any capacity increase requires replacing both modules.
