14-inch business laptop for office work

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor running at 2.4GHz with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 on a 1366 by 768 IPS display. Connectivity includes USB 3.1 Type-C, VGA, DisplayPort and Gigabit Ethernet.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This unit fits workers who rely on full-size VGA and DisplayPort outputs for projector or dual-monitor setups and want a built-in RJ-45 jack for wired networks. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics or a modern high-refresh display should look elsewhere. The 1366 by 768 screen and integrated graphics also limit creative or engineering workloads.

1366 by 768 non-touch IPS panel decides fit

The 14-inch IPS display runs at 1366 by 768 without touch input, which determines whether text clarity and vertical space meet your workflow. If that resolution is sufficient for documents, email and browser-based tools, the laptop matches the requirement; if you need 1080p or higher for side-by-side windows or design work, this screen will not suit.

Questions about this item
