Business-ready 14 laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 10 Pro on a dual-core Intel Core i7-7500U processor at 2.7 GHz with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. It suits professionals who need a portable QHD display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 for everyday productivity.

Check ports and power before ordering

This unit provides two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, full-size DisplayPort, VGA, Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet and a SIM card reader. Verify that your docks, monitors and wired network cables match these interfaces and that the included 15 W charger meets your mobile workflow needs.

Sustained load behaviour

The 15 W Kaby Lake dual-core chip with 3 MB L3 cache shares system memory with the integrated GPU, so extended multi-threaded workloads will trigger thermal throttling and reduced clock speeds. The QHD LED panel and SSD maintain consistent output, but the cooling solution is sized for burst office tasks rather than continuous heavy compute.
