Business-ready 14.0" QHD laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0-inch laptop built for office professionals who need a sharp 2560 x 1440 display and reliable connectivity. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 7th-generation Intel Core i7-7500U dual-core processor with 8GB of DDR4 memory. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks.

1TB NVMe PCIe SSD with 8GB RAM

The 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 drive gives ample space for large document libraries, local databases and offline media without relying on cloud sync. 8GB of DDR4 memory keeps typical multitasking smooth — dozens of browser tabs, Office apps and video calls run together. Heavy virtualisation, large video projects or memory-hungry development environments will exceed the fixed RAM headroom.

USB 3.1 Type-C and DisplayPort limits

One USB 3.1 Type-C port and a full-size DisplayPort drive external monitors up to the panel's native 2560 x 1440 resolution. The integrated GPU shares system memory, so sustained 3D workloads or multi-monitor 3D rendering are not practical. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 wireless cover wired and wireless LAN needs; the SIM slot supports mobile broadband where a data plan is available.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.7 GHz Core i7-7500U keep up with my older USB 3.0 peripherals?

The laptop provides two USB 3.0 Type-A ports plus one USB 3.1 Type-C port, so existing USB 3.0 devices connect directly without adapters.

How can I verify the 2560 x 1440 QHD panel is running at its native resolution after first boot?

Open Windows Display Settings and confirm the resolution slider shows 2560 x 1440 as the recommended setting; the Intel HD Graphics 620 driver will default to that mode.

Does the box contain the 1 TB NVMe SSD already installed, or must I supply my own drive?

The 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD comes factory-installed; the package includes the laptop, charger and battery only.
