Business laptop with 14 inch display

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a 14 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U processor running at 1.7 GHz. It ships with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The panel is a 1920 x 1080 FHD LED display. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Professionals needing a portable machine for office applications, video calls and multi-tab browsing will find the quad-core CPU and 32 GB RAM adequate. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics, larger storage or a newer Windows version out of the box should consider other options.

Specification that decides fit

The single specification that decides fit is the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 using shared system memory, which limits the laptop to light graphical workloads and external display support via HDMI and USB Type C Thunderbolt 3.
