Refurbished EliteBook 840 G5 for business users

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a refurbished 14.0-inch laptop built around a quad-core Intel Core i5-8250U running at 1.60 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD, driving a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display through Intel UHD Graphics 620. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed for managed environments.

Step up from dual-core ultraportables

Moving from a dual-core ultraportable or a system with a mechanical hard drive to this quad-core Kaby Lake R platform with solid-state storage yields a clear responsiveness jump for office multitasking. The upgrade is worth it when daily workloads involve several browser tabs, document editing and video calls simultaneously. Buyers who need discrete graphics for CAD or rendering will not find that capability here.

Integrated graphics and shared memory set

Intel UHD Graphics 620 relies on shared system memory, so the 16 GB pool serves both compute and display duties. The 1920 x 1080 panel is the native resolution; external displays are limited by the integrated engine's output capabilities. Users requiring dedicated video memory, higher refresh rates or multi-monitor 4K workflows should look elsewhere.
