Business laptop with Thunderbolt 3

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U processor running at 1.7 GHz with 4 cores and 8 threads. It includes 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD for fast storage. The display is a non-touch 1920 x 1080 FHD panel with LED backlight. Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visuals using shared system memory. It ships with Windows 10 Home and offers USB 3.1 Gen 1, Thunderbolt 3, HDMI and Gigabit Ethernet ports. A webcam and dual-band wireless are included.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits professionals needing a portable 14 inch device with Thunderbolt 3 for docks or external drives and enough performance for office applications. Buyers who want more storage or memory than the soldered 8 GB and single 256 GB drive provide should consider other options. Those requiring a dedicated graphics card for creative workloads or gaming will not find it here. The Grade B condition means visible cosmetic wear is present.

Specification that decides fit

The single specification that decides fit is the Thunderbolt 3 port combined with the 14.0 inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. If your workflow depends on a single-cable dock connection and a compact screen size, this configuration matches. If you need a touchscreen, a larger panel, or a port selection without Thunderbolt 3, this is not the right unit.
