Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.9 GHz with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a 1080p webcam for video calls.

Thunderbolt 3 port limits external GPU bandwidth

The single USB Type C Thunderbolt 3 port provides high-speed data and video output but its 15 W processor power envelope and shared Intel UHD Graphics 620 memory restrict sustained external GPU performance. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and Gigabit Ethernet handle everyday peripherals and wired networking.

1 TB NVMe SSD covers large local workloads

The 1 TB NVMe drive comfortably stores operating system, applications and sizeable project files without constant external storage juggling. Integrated graphics and 16 GB shared system memory handle office suites and light creative tasks but run out of headroom for modern 3D rendering or heavy video encoding.
