Business laptop for secure productivity

The HP EliteBook 840 G6 is a 14.0 inch business notebook powered by an Intel Core i7-8665U processor running at 1.9 GHz with four cores and eight threads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. The non-touch Full HD display uses LED backlighting at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Sustained performance with 15 W thermal design

The 15 W processor maintains clocks during extended workloads such as document rendering, video calls and light development tasks without aggressive throttling. Shared system memory feeds the Intel UHD Graphics, so graphics-intensive sessions draw from the same 8 GB pool used by the operating system and applications.

Thunderbolt 3 limits external expansion

A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port provides up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for docks, external GPUs or high-resolution displays, but only one such connection is possible at a time. The remaining I/O includes two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI and Gigabit Ethernet, capping peripheral throughput at 5 Gbps and 1 Gbps respectively.
