Business-ready notebook

The HP EliteBook 840 G6 is a 14.0-inch laptop built for professionals who need a secure, portable Windows 11 Pro device. It ships new with a Grade B cosmetic rating, meaning minor surface marks may be present. The quad-core Intel Core i7-8665U processor runs at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB of L3 cache.

32 GB DDR4 and 128 GB SSD

Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory gives ample headroom for heavy multitasking, virtual machines and large spreadsheet workloads. The 128 GB solid-state drive boots Windows 11 Pro quickly but will fill rapidly once applications, media and project files are added. Users handling large media libraries or multiple VMs should plan for external or cloud storage.

Thunderbolt 3 and display limits

A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port supports high-speed peripherals and external monitors up to the bandwidth of the interface. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics uses shared system memory, so graphically intensive tasks such as 3D rendering or modern gaming will hit performance ceilings quickly. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch panel covers standard office work but does not support pen or touch input.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.9 GHz i7-8665U and 32 GB DDR4 still feel responsive when I keep my older USB 3.0 dock and 1080p monitor?

Yes, the quad-core processor and 32 GB DDR4 handle everyday workloads smoothly, and the two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports plus HDMI let you keep using your existing dock and 1080p display without adapters.

How can I confirm the Thunderbolt 3 port and 128 GB SSD are detected correctly after first boot?

Open Device Manager in Windows 11 Pro — the Intel UHD Graphics and Thunderbolt controller should appear without warning icons, and the 128 GB SSD will show its full capacity in Disk Management.

Does the box include the 65 W USB-C charger and is the battery already installed?

The package contains the laptop, the 65 W USB-C charger and the internal battery already fitted, so no separate power accessory is required.
