Refurbished EliteBook 840 G8 overview

This HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a refurbished 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with four cores and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.8 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory in a single module and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe TLC solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display offers anti-glare coating and 400 nits brightness. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Suited for mobile professionals.

The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory and handle everyday office tasks, video playback and light content creation. Buyers who need discrete graphics for 3D rendering, CAD or modern gaming should look elsewhere. The single memory module leaves one slot free for future expansion, but users requiring more than 16 GB out of the box will need to upgrade immediately.

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity included

The Intel AX201 wireless card provides 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0 for fast, stable connections to networks and peripherals. No Ethernet port is present, so wired networking requires a USB or dock adapter. The package includes the laptop and power adapter only; no external mouse, sleeve or additional software bundles are supplied.

Questions about this item

Does this EliteBook 840 G8 need an external power adapter to run?

Yes, the laptop requires its HP USB-C power adapter to charge the battery and operate at full performance.

Can I keep using my older USB-A peripherals with the USB-C ports on this i7-1185G7 model?

The USB-C ports support USB 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort 1.4; a USB-C to USB-A adapter or hub lets legacy devices work normally.

How can I confirm the 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory is running at the rated speed after setup?

Open Task Manager → Performance → Memory and verify the speed shows 3200 MHz; CPU-Z or HWiNFO will also report DDR4-3200.
