Business laptop for executives

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a 14.0-inch Windows 11 Pro notebook built for executives and mobile professionals. An Intel Core i5-1145G7 4-core processor reaches 4.40 GHz and works with 16 GB of memory. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. A 256 GB SSD stores the operating system and files. The chassis weighs 2.92 kg and includes a webcam for video meetings.

Everyday performance envelope

The 4-core i5-1145G7 handles office suites, browser workloads and video calls within its thermal design. Intel Iris Xe Graphics shares system memory and suits productivity apps and light media consumption. The 16 GB memory ceiling and 256 GB SSD capacity define the practical limits for multitasking and local storage. Demanding creative or compute tasks will exceed the available headroom.

Travel-ready build and connectivity

A slim 14.0-inch aluminium frame meets MIL-STD durability targets for daily commuting. The 2.92 kg weight balances portability with a full-size keyboard and precision touchpad. A 720p webcam with privacy shutter supports hybrid calls. Standard business ports — USB-C, USB-A, HDMI and audio — cover docks, peripherals and external displays without adapters.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB 256 GB version or a different capacity?

The 16 GB memory and 256 GB SSD suit typical office workloads and light multitasking; if you handle larger datasets or run virtual machines, a model with more storage would be preferable.

What does the 4.40 GHz turbo speed mean in daily use?

The Intel Core i5-1145G7 can reach 4.40 GHz on short bursts for snappy application launches, then settles to lower clocks for sustained tasks while staying cool.

How does the Intel Iris Xe graphics perform for external displays?

Intel Iris Xe graphics drives the built-in 1920 x 1080 panel and can support additional monitors for productivity, though it is not intended for heavy 3D work.
