HP EliteBook 840 G8 refurbished laptop

This HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a refurbished 14-inch business laptop with an Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor, 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 256 GB SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a 1920 x 1080 IPS anti-glare screen. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle everyday visual tasks.

Who this suits and who it does not

Suits professionals who need a portable Windows 11 Pro machine with 16 GB RAM, fast Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 for office work and video calls. Not for buyers who want a larger display, dedicated graphics, a numeric keypad or a non-Spanish keyboard layout.

Deciding specification: 256 GB SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 256 GB solid-state drive. It provides quick boot and application launch, but capacity is limited for large media libraries or multiple virtual machines. Buyers needing more internal storage should look at other models.

Questions about this item

How long will the 256 GB SSD last under sustained write workloads?

The 256 GB solid-state drive has no moving parts and is rated for typical mixed workloads; sustained heavy writes will eventually wear the NAND cells, but normal office use stays well within its endurance.

Does the fan stay quiet when the i5-1145G7 runs at 4.4 GHz all day?

Under continuous load the dual-fan thermal system spins up to keep the 4-core processor within its thermal limits, so audible airflow increases compared with light use.

Which external monitor cable do I need for the HDMI port on this EliteBook 840 G8?

A standard HDMI cable connects the built-in HDMI output to any monitor or projector that accepts HDMI input.
