Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

The HP EliteBook 845 G8 is a refurbished Windows 11 Pro notebook powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U processor with 6 cores running at 2.3 GHz base and up to 4.2 GHz boost. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics use shared system memory. It suits professionals who need a reliable 14.0 inch device for office applications and video calls.

16 GB DDR4-3200 memory and 256 GB NVMe SSD

The system ships with 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM in a dual-channel 2 x 8 GB configuration and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe TLC solid-state drive. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 handle wireless connectivity. The 1920 x 1080 IPS anti-glare panel reaches 250 nits and covers 45% NTSC, leaving desk space free for external monitors or docks.

Upgrade from 8 GB RAM or hard-drive models

Moving from an 8 GB machine eliminates memory pressure during multitasking, while the NVMe drive replaces slower mechanical storage for faster boot and application load times. The 6-core Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U steps up from dual-core processors for heavier workloads. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU, larger local storage or a touchscreen should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How does the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U handle thermals when all six cores run near 4.2 GHz for long periods?

The 6-core processor has a 2.3 GHz base clock and 4.2 GHz boost; sustained loads will trigger thermal management that reduces clock speeds to stay within the chassis limits.

What fan noise and surface heat should I expect from the 14 inch EliteBook 845 G8 during an all-day workload?

The integrated AMD Radeon graphics share system memory and the cooling system is sized for the 6-core CPU; under continuous load the fan becomes audible and the keyboard area warms noticeably.

Which ports and peripherals do I need to connect this laptop to a wired network and external displays?

The unit includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless; for wired LAN or video output you will need a USB-C or USB-A adapter or dock that matches the ports on this specific model.
