Buyers Needing Upgradable RAM Or Discrete GPU

This unit suits professionals wanting a lightweight 14" device for office applications and video calls. The 16GB memory is fixed and cannot be increased later. Buyers who need user-upgradable RAM should look elsewhere. Integrated graphics limit 3D rendering and heavy gaming performance. Anyone requiring a discrete graphics card for CAD or creative workloads will need a different system.

Two USB-C Ports With HDMI 2.0 Output

Connectivity includes two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. A single HDMI 2.0 port drives an external display up to 1920 x 1080. A headphone and microphone combo jack handles audio. No other video outputs are present. Verify that two Type-C ports and one HDMI 2.0 connection satisfy your docking and monitor requirements before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How long can the 5650U sustain its 2.30 GHz base clock before thermal limits cut performance?

The 6-core Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U runs at a 2.30 GHz base frequency with 16 MB L3 cache; sustained all-core loads will throttle once the thin 14.0" chassis reaches its thermal ceiling, typically after several minutes of heavy compute.

How loud does the fan get and what is the surface temperature when the Vega 6 iGPU is driven hard all day?

Under continuous load the integrated Vega 6 graphics share system memory and push the cooling fan to audible levels; the aluminium deck near the hinge can feel warm, but the 0.7" profile limits heat-soak capacity.

Which dock or hub is required to drive two external monitors from the two USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 ports and the HDMI 2.0 output?

Each USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port supports DisplayPort alt-mode, so a dual-display USB-C dock or two separate USB-C to HDMI/DP adapters plus the built-in HDMI 2.0 port will run three screens total.
