HP EliteBook 850 G2 15.6" FHD Laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G2 is a 15.6-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 2TB SATA SSD. It ships without an operating system installed.

Suits users needing a ready 15.6" FHD business

Buyers who want a machine with an OS pre-installed should look elsewhere. Users requiring more than 16GB of RAM cannot upgrade this unit. Those needing a touchscreen or a dedicated graphics card will not find them here. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles basic visual tasks only.

16GB DDR3 memory soldered to 16 GB maximum

The laptop supports a maximum of 16 GB across two slots. This fixed ceiling means the memory cannot be expanded beyond the included amount. Buyers planning future RAM upgrades must choose a different platform. The installed 16GB DDR3 configuration is the final capacity.

Questions about this item

What size and interface does the internal drive bay use?

The EliteBook 850 G2 accepts a 2.5" SATA drive; the included 2 TB SSD uses that form factor and interface.

How is the 16 GB DDR3 memory installed, and what mistake should I avoid?

Both SODIMM slots are filled to reach the 16 GB maximum; do not buy extra modules expecting a free slot.

Which component will need replacement first under heavy daily use?

The internal battery is the only consumable part; plan to swap it when run time drops below your needs.
