Business laptop with 15.6" FHD display

The HP EliteBook 850 G3 is a 15.6-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch screen. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor reaching 3.40 GHz turbo frequency with Intel HD Graphics 520. The unit ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

User-replaceable memory and storage

Two memory slots are available supporting up to 32 GB total DDR4 capacity. The 2.5-inch SATA SSD bay is accessible for upgrades or replacement. Installation requires only basic tools and standard anti-static precautions. The most common issue is forgetting to install an operating system before first boot.

Verify OS provisioning and storage needs

Confirm you have a Windows licence or alternative OS media ready for installation. The 128GB SSD capacity suits light local storage but may require external drives for large media libraries. Check that your workflow fits within 16GB RAM or plan a memory upgrade using the second slot.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Intel Core i7-6600U is running at its 3.40 GHz turbo frequency after setup?

Open Windows Task Manager or a hardware monitor such as HWInfo and watch the CPU clock speed under load; the i7-6600U should reach 3.40 GHz on at least one core when thermals allow.

What comes in the box and what must I supply myself?

The laptop, its AC adapter and a 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD are included; you must provide an operating system licence and installation media as none is pre-installed.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4 configuration or plan to upgrade to the 32 GB maximum?

The unit ships with 16 GB DDR4 across two slots; if your workloads regularly exceed 16 GB, add matching DDR4 modules to reach the 32 GB limit.
