EliteBook 850 G3 business laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G3 is a 15.6-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency and Intel HD Graphics 520. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed.

Upgrade from older dual-core or HDD systems

This configuration replaces laptops limited to 4GB or 8GB RAM and mechanical hard drives. The jump is worth it when you need 16GB memory for multitasking and NVMe storage speed for faster boot and application load times. The dual-core i7-6600U handles office workloads and web-based tasks efficiently.

Check memory slots and OS support before ordering

The laptop has two memory slots supporting up to 32GB total capacity if you plan to expand later. Verify that Windows 10 Pro meets your software compatibility requirements, as newer applications may demand a later operating system. Ensure your peripherals connect via the available ports on this model.

Questions about this item

What M.2 SSD form factor and interface does the 500GB drive use?

The 500GB drive is an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, so it fits an M-key slot that supports PCIe signalling.

Which screws or clips secure the bottom cover for memory and storage access?

The base is held by standard Phillips screws; the common mistake is not removing every screw before prying, which cracks the plastic clips.

How much additional DDR4 memory can be added later?

Two SODIMM slots exist with 16 GB installed; the platform supports up to 32 GB total, so one 16 GB module can be added.
