Business laptop with 15.6-inch FHD display

The HP EliteBook 850 G5 is a 15.6-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.9 GHz. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD. The screen delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with LED backlighting. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for professional use.

Ready to use with minimal setup

The unit ships with a charger and battery included so you can start working immediately. Windows 10 Pro is already installed and activated. The non-touch FHD panel requires no calibration. Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports accept standard cables and docks without extra drivers in most cases.

Verify your peripheral and docking needs

Check that your existing monitors support HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 video input for external display connections. Confirm your network infrastructure uses Gigabit Ethernet or the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 standard for wired and wireless compatibility. Ensure any legacy USB-A accessories work with the two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports provided. Buyers who need a built-in optical drive or a touchscreen should consider a different model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-8650U is running at its 1.9 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager and select the Performance tab; the CPU listing will show the current clock speed matching the 1.9 GHz base frequency under light load.

Which accessories are included and which must be purchased separately?

The box contains the laptop, charger and battery; any docking station, external monitor or carrying case would be separate purchases.

Should I choose the 512 GB NVMe configuration or look for a larger capacity?

The 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD provides fast boot and application load times; select a larger drive only if you store extensive media libraries locally.
