Business laptop with 1.90 GHz quad-core i7

The HP EliteBook 850 G5 is a 15.6 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90 GHz with four cores and eight threads. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD display uses LED backlighting and does not support touch input. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output using shared system memory.

Single-unit deployment with Thunderbolt 3 docking

The laptop arrives as a complete unit with charger and battery included, so no internal assembly is required. The single Thunderbolt 3 port supports docking, power delivery and high-speed peripherals through one cable. Because the memory and storage are already populated to 16 GB and 1 TB respectively, there is no need to open the chassis for upgrades. Buyers who want user-replaceable parts or a second drive bay should consider a different form factor.

Sustained office workloads within 15 W envelope

The 15 W processor maintains its 1.90 GHz base frequency during extended document editing, web browsing and video conferencing without thermal throttling. Shared graphics memory means the 16 GB DDR4 pool serves both system and display tasks, so heavy multitasking can reduce available bandwidth for the GPU. The NVMe drive keeps boot and application load times consistent over long sessions. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere.
