Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 850 G5 delivers a 15.6 inch Full HD display driven by an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.9 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD provide responsive multitasking and fast storage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate productivity.

Included charger and battery enable immediate

The package supplies the AC adapter and internal battery so the system powers on straight away. A 720p webcam supports video conferencing without extra peripherals. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C adds high-speed data and display connectivity through a single port.

Silver chassis built for daily transport

The aluminium-alloy frame resists flex during commuting while keeping weight manageable. One HDMI 1.4 output and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports handle legacy monitors and accessories. Gigabit Ethernet and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 give reliable wired and wireless networking.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB NVMe SSD need replacement if I fill it with large project files?

The 512 GB NVMe drive is the only internal storage; if capacity runs out you must add external storage or replace the drive with a larger NVMe module.

What stops the Intel Core i7-8650U from holding its 1.9 GHz base speed during long renders?

The 15 W thermal design power limit is reached first; once the cooling system saturates the processor reduces clocks to stay within that envelope.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel when the laptop runs Windows 11 Pro all day?

Under sustained load the single fan spins up to move heat from the 15 W CPU, making the keyboard deck warm and producing audible but not intrusive airflow noise.
