EliteBook 860 for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 860 is a 16.0-inch business laptop built around an Intel Ultra 5-135U processor with 12 cores and 14 threads. It ships with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The IPS WUXGA panel runs at 1920x1200 resolution and 60Hz. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports

Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports provide high-speed data, video output and charging through a single Type-C connector. The HDMI 2.1 port supports external 4K displays at higher refresh rates. Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wireless networking. A fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard add security and low-light usability.

Suits office workers needing a large screen

This configuration fits professionals who want a 16.0-inch 16:10 display, 2TB of solid-state capacity and modern Thunderbolt docking. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. Users requiring a touchscreen or a larger memory capacity than 16GB will need a different model.

Questions about this item

Can the 16GB DDR5 SO-DIMM be upgraded later?

The 16GB DDR5 SO-DIMM is a single module; the laptop has two slots so you can add a second stick up to the platform maximum.

What thermal limit appears first during long heavy workloads?

The Ultra 5-135U 15 W base power and 56 Whr battery mean sustained turbo clocks will throttle once the cooling solution saturates.

How loud and hot does it get when running all day on the 65 W USB-C charger?

Fan noise stays low at idle; under continuous load the 3-cell 56 Whr battery and compact chassis push surface temperatures up while fans spin audibly.
