Versatile 13.3" 2-in-1 for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 is a 13.3 inch convertible notebook with a 360 degree hinge. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with Intel HD Graphics 620. The system includes 8 GB of onboard DDR4 memory and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

Suits users needing touch flexibility

The FHD IPS touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass supports pen and finger input for note-taking or presentations. Buyers who require user-replaceable memory, a discrete graphics card, or more than two USB-A ports should consider other form factors.

Dual-core i5-7300U with 2.6 GHz base

This processor determines responsiveness for office workloads, web browsing and light creative tasks. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 panel and external displays via HDMI 1.4 or the USB Type-C Thunderbolt port.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 and what step do people often miss?

Open the box, connect the AC power adapter to the round power connector, press the power button, then follow the Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit setup screens — the step many skip is linking the Intel Core i5-7300U to a Microsoft account for BitLocker recovery.

What maintenance or replacement will the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 need later?

The 8 GB DDR4 RAM is soldered on-board and cannot be upgraded; the 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD can be swapped for a larger drive, and the internal battery will eventually require professional replacement.

What limit appears first on the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 during sustained workloads?

Under continuous load the Intel Core i5-7300U hits its 3.5 GHz turbo ceiling and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 thermal-throttles, so CPU and GPU performance drops before the 13.3 inch FHD touchscreen or 256 GB SSD become bottlenecks.
