Convertible business laptop

The EliteBook x360 1040 G7 is a 14-inch convertible laptop built around an Intel Core i7-10610U processor with four cores and a 1.8 GHz base frequency that can reach 4.9 GHz via Turbo Boost. It ships with 16 GB of LPDDR4-2933 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen offers 400 nits brightness and 72% NTSC coverage protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Integrated privacy screen and connectivity

An integrated HP Sure View Reflect privacy screen limits side-angle visibility without extra filters. Wireless connectivity uses Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5 for stable peripheral pairing. The convertible hinge supports tablet, tent and stand modes for presentations or note-taking. Shared system memory handles graphics duties through Intel UHD Graphics.

Mobile professionals needing on-screen privacy

This configuration suits professionals who work in public spaces and value the hardware privacy screen and 360-degree flexibility. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. Users requiring built-in Ethernet or larger internal storage capacity will need alternative solutions.

Questions about this item

Is the LPDDR4 memory soldered or can I upgrade the 16 GB later?

The 16 GB LPDDR4-2933 SDRAM is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded after purchase.

Will the Core i7-10610U throttle during long compiles or video exports?

Sustained loads push the quad-core chip to its thermal ceiling, so clock speeds drop from the 4.9 GHz boost toward the 1.8 GHz base until the workload eases.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel during an all-day work session?

The fan stays quiet at idle and spins up to a moderate hum under load; the aluminium deck warms noticeably but remains comfortable for typing.
