Built for Mobile Professionals

The HP EliteBook x360 1040 G7 is a 14.0" convertible laptop designed for business users who need flexibility. Its 360° hinge supports notebook, stand, tent and tablet modes for presenting, collaborating or drawing. A Core i7-10610U processor with four cores and eight threads handles office workloads and multitasking.

Ports and Expansion

Two USB 3.1 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt support provide video output and high-speed data alongside two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. An HDMI connection and a headset jack complete the physical interfaces. Wireless connectivity uses WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5. The 256 GB NVMe SSD and 16 GB LPDDR4 memory are soldered, so storage and RAM cannot be upgraded later.

Thermals and Power

The 15 W quad-core chip runs cool enough for silent operation during typical productivity tasks. Fan noise stays low in office applications and web browsing. The 14" FHD IPS touchscreen draws modest power, helping the integrated battery last through a standard workday on a single charge.

Questions about this item

Will the 15 W TDP of the i7-10610U throttle performance during long workloads?

The processor runs at a 15 W TDP with four cores and eight threads, so sustained heavy loads will hit that thermal ceiling and reduce clock speeds.

How loud or hot does the convertible get when it runs all day?

Fan noise rises under continuous load because the 15 W chip shares a compact 360° hinge chassis; surface temperatures become noticeable on the keyboard deck and bottom panel.

Which cables or docks must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3.1 Type-C ports?

You need Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C cables and docks that support the 3.1 Type-C interface for video, data and charging through the two ports.
