12.5" Convertible Business Laptop

The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is a 2-in-1 device built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on a dual-core Intel Core i5-7300U processor with a turbo frequency up to 3.50 GHz. The 12.5-inch diagonal FHD IPS touch screen delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution at 400 cd/m² brightness with 72% sRGB coverage, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles visual output.

Suited for Portable Office Work.

This convertible serves users who need a lightweight, silent machine for document editing, web apps and video calls on the move. The 360-degree hinge supports laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes for flexible presentation. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for 3D rendering, video encoding or modern gaming should look elsewhere. The integrated GPU and dual-core CPU limit sustained multi-threaded throughput.

M.2 SATA TLC SED SSD Defines Storage Speed

The 256 GB solid-state drive uses an M.2 SATA interface with TLC NAND and self-encrypting drive (SED) hardware encryption. This combination sets the sequential read/write ceiling and provides hardware-based data protection without software overhead. If your workflow demands a faster PCIe interface or a larger factory capacity, this drive specification will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How do I install Windows updates on the HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 and what step do people miss?

Open Settings, choose Update & Security, then click Check for updates; the step many miss is restarting the laptop after the download finishes so the changes actually apply.

What maintenance or replacement will the 256 GB M.2 SATA TLC SED SSD need later?

The soldered 8 GB LPDDR3-1866 memory cannot be upgraded; the SSD can be swapped for a larger M.2 SATA drive if more storage is required.

What limit appears first on the Core i5-7300U during sustained workloads?

The dual-core processor reaches its thermal ceiling in the ultra-slim chassis, causing clock speeds to drop below the 3.50 GHz turbo frequency.
