Refurbished Business Desktop SFF

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5-SFF is a refurbished small form factor desktop built around an Intel Core i7-9700 3.00 GHz 8-core processor with 12 MB L3 cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives two DisplayPort 1.2 outputs. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Office Deployments and Home Offices

This unit suits buyers who need a compact, managed Windows 11 Pro machine for standard productivity, web apps and multi-monitor desk setups. It does not suit buyers who require a discrete graphics card, additional internal drive bays, or a full-height expansion slot for add-in cards.

256 GB M.2 NVMe Boot Drive

The single specification that decides fit is the 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD. It provides fast boot and application load times but limited capacity for large local data sets. Buyers who need more onboard storage should look at configurations with larger drives or secondary bays.

Questions about this item

How do I install extra DDR4 memory in the EliteDesk 800 G5-SFF, and which step is most often missed?

Remove the side panel, press the new DDR4 modules straight down into the empty DIMM slots until the retention clips click, then replace the panel; the step most people miss is pushing firmly enough to seat both clips.

What maintenance or replacement will the 256 GB NVMe drive need later?

The NVMe drive has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance; plan to replace it only if SMART data reports wear or if you need more than 256 GB of capacity.

What limit appears first when the Core i7-9700 runs sustained workloads in this small form factor?

The compact 3.94-inch-high chassis restricts airflow, so CPU thermal throttling typically becomes the first bottleneck during prolonged heavy loads.
