Product identity

The HP EliteOne 800 G4 is a 23.8-inch full-HD touch all-in-one desktop powered by an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8700 six-core processor. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive plus a 1 TB secondary drive, integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630, DVD-RW, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, webcam, USB keyboard and mouse, and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. The compact chassis integrates the display and compute in a single black-and-silver unit for office or reception deployment.

Who this suits

Organisations that need a space-saving, touch-enabled workstation with ample local storage and a ready-to-use Windows 11 Pro environment will find this configuration a practical fit. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card for 3D rendering, video editing or multi-monitor gaming should look elsewhere because the system relies on integrated UHD 630 graphics. Teams needing user-upgradeable memory beyond 16 GB or a chassis that accepts full-size expansion cards will also need a different form factor.

Deciding specification

The single specification that determines suitability is the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 combined with the fixed all-in-one chassis. If the workload demands discrete GPU performance or internal PCIe expansion, this unit will not meet the requirement; for general business productivity, collaboration and touch interaction the integrated graphics and sealed design are sufficient.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the i5-8500 or the i7-8700 version of this EliteOne 800 G4?

This unit comes with the i7-8700 running at 3.20 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.60 GHz, 8 MB cache, 6 cores and 12 threads; the i5-8500 is not installed.

What does the 3.20 GHz base clock and 4.60 GHz boost mean for everyday workloads?

The six-core processor handles multi-tasking and heavy office apps at 3.20 GHz, automatically raising frequency to 4.60 GHz for short bursts when thermal headroom allows.

Is the 256 GB drive NVMe and does that limit transfer rates?

The 256 GB M.2 SSD is the operating-system drive; the 1 TB 2.5-inch SSD provides additional storage, both using the platform's standard interfaces.
