HP 1 TB SAS Drive With Caddy

This HP MB1000FCWDE drive provides 1 TB of storage on a 3.5 inch SAS interface running at 6 Gb/s. It spins at 7200 RPM with a 32 MB cache and ships new in a Smart Carrier caddy for direct installation in compatible bays.

Suited For HP Server Bays

The included caddy fits HP hot-plug server chassis that accept 3.5 inch SAS drives, making it a direct replacement for enterprise arrays. Builders using desktop motherboards without a SAS controller or 2.5 inch only enclosures should look elsewhere.

6 Gb/s SAS Interface Is Decisive

The drive communicates over a 6 Gb/s SAS link, so the host system must provide a matching SAS backplane or controller card. Without that interface the drive will not function regardless of capacity or spindle speed.
