Thermals noise and power

The low-power U-series processor typically keeps heat and fan noise modest during everyday workloads such as document editing and video calls. Integrated graphics share system memory, avoiding a discrete GPU’s extra power draw. Battery life exceeds 80 percent of the original capacity, supporting mobile use between charges. The included power supply delivers the required wattage for normal operation and charging.

Ports and accessories

Connectivity covers USB, a Type-C port, VGA, and an RJ-45 Ethernet jack for wired networks. An HD webcam supports video conferencing without extra hardware. The box contains the computer, the power supply, and warranty instructions. Multi-language Windows 10 Pro supports English, Spanish, and French out of the box.

Questions about this item

How is the 256 GB SSD installed in the EliteBook 840 G3, and what step do people often miss?

The drive slots into the internal M.2 connector; the step many miss is reinstalling the bottom case screws in the correct order so the thermal pad makes full contact with the SSD controller.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The memory is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; the only related maintenance is keeping the cooling vents clear to avoid thermal stress on the chips.

Which limit appears first when the Intel HD Graphics 520 runs at 1366 x 768 under sustained load?

Shared system memory bandwidth becomes the bottleneck before the GPU core hits its maximum frequency, reducing frame rates in extended sessions.
