AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX laptop for creators and gamers

The HP OMEN 16 pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 64 GB of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. A 16.0-inch WQXGA IPS panel runs at 60-240 Hz with a 3 ms response time, 500 nits brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed. The chassis measures 15.7 x 10.87 x 0.99 inches and weighs 7.05 lbs in Shadow Black.

Vapor-chamber cooling sustains clocks during long

An enlarged vapor-chamber and dual-fan arrangement keeps the CPU and GPU near their boost frequencies across extended workloads. The Ryzen 9 8940HX can reach 5.3 GHz on demanding threads while the RTX 5070 maintains stable frame rates in modern titles. Fan curves stay controlled so acoustic output remains manageable even when the 83 Wh battery is under heavy draw.

Full-size RGB keyboard and versatile port selection

A four-zone RGB backlit keyboard with numeric pad offers per-key lighting customisation for late-night work. Connectivity includes one USB Type-C 10Gbps port with USB Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, one USB Type-A 10Gbps, two USB Type-A 5Gbps, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45, a headphone/microphone combo jack and an AC smart-pin connector. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless duties.
