System positioning

The HP OMEN 45L is a tower gaming desktop built around a 15th Gen Intel Core Ultra 9-285K processor with 24 cores and a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card carrying 32GB GDDR7 memory. It targets enthusiasts who need high single-thread frequency up to 5.7GHz and maximum GPU VRAM for 4K workloads or VR. Buyers who want more storage than the single 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD provides should plan for expansion.

Thermals noise power

A 360mm AIO liquid cooler handles the CPU while a 1200W power supply feeds the full platform. The combination is designed to sustain the 285K at its 5.7GHz boost and the RTX 5090 under continuous load without throttling. Acoustic behaviour will vary with fan curves but the liquid loop keeps CPU temperatures lower than air-only alternatives at equivalent power draw.

Build connectivity

The chassis measures 18.5 by 21.9 by 8 inches and weighs 46lb, so desk space and lift clearance are practical considerations. Front and rear I/O include six USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, three DisplayPort outputs and a headset jack. Networking uses Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.4 alongside a wired RJ-45 port. A bundled Dockztorm USB hub adds extra 5Gbps ports for peripherals.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360 mm AIO liquid cooler and what step do people often get wrong?

Mount the 360 mm radiator with fans pushing air out of the case, then connect the pump header to the CPU_FAN connector on the motherboard so the pump runs at full speed; skipping that header is the common mistake.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1200 W power supply need later?

The 1200 W PSU has no user-serviceable parts; plan to replace the entire unit if fan noise increases or voltages drift after several years of heavy load.

Which limit appears first during sustained gaming on the RTX 5090 32 GB GDDR7?

The GPU power limit of the RTX 5090 is reached before the 1200 W PSU or the 360 mm AIO thermal capacity, so clock speeds will throttle to stay within the card's rated board power.
