HP Pavilion 15 Ryzen 7 5700U laptop

This HP Pavilion 15 laptop runs on an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor with 8 cores and a max boost clock of 4.3 GHz. It comes with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB PCIe SSD. The 15.6 inch FHD touch display uses IPS technology with micro-edge BrightView. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and suits professionals who need responsive multitasking and ample storage in a portable form.

Build, ports and daily use

The silver chassis measures 12.28 x 8.23 x .76 inches and weighs 4.4 pounds. Connectivity includes one SuperSpeed USB Type-C port at 10 Gbps with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, two SuperSpeed USB Type-A ports at 5 Gbps, HDMI 2.0, an AC smart pin, a headphone/microphone combo jack and a multi-format SD card reader. Wi-Fi 6 (2x2/160) Gig+ and Bluetooth 5.0 handle wireless links. A backlit keyboard and a 720p HD webcam support work in varied lighting.

Integrated graphics constraint

Graphics are provided by AMD Radeon integrated graphics, which share system memory. This configuration handles everyday productivity, media playback and light creative tasks but is not suited for demanding 3D rendering, modern gaming at high settings or GPU-accelerated workloads that require discrete video memory. Buyers who need dedicated graphics performance should consider a different system.

Questions about this item

What devices can the USB-C 10 Gbps port drive and charge?

The USB-C port supports USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4 output and HP Sleep and Charge, so it can run an external display and charge the laptop or peripherals at up to 10 Gbps signaling rate.

Will the 15.6 inch chassis fit in a standard 15 inch sleeve?

The laptop measures 12.28 x 8.23 x 0.76 inches and weighs 4.4 pounds, so it needs a sleeve sized for a full 15.6 inch device rather than a tighter 15 inch model.

How is the pre-installed Windows 11 Pro activated after the upgrade seal is broken?

Windows 11 Pro ships pre-activated with a digital licence tied to the motherboard; the engineer opens the seal only to install the 32 GB DDR4 and 2 TB PCIe SSD, then reseals the unit before first boot.
