Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

The HP ProBook 640 G9 arrives in Grade A cosmetic condition with Windows 11 Pro installed. An Intel Core i5-1245U processor with ten cores and 12 MB cache handles daily workloads. Sixteen gigabytes of memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive provide responsive multitasking and fast boot times. The non-touch FHD panel measures 14.0 inches diagonally.

Thermals and power in normal use

The thin-and-light chassis measures 12.67 by 8.42 by 0.78 inches and uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics with shared system memory. No discrete GPU is present, so heat output stays modest during typical office tasks. Fan noise remains low when processing documents, email or video calls. The 1.6 GHz base clock keeps power draw steady for business applications.

Single specification that decides fit

One Thunderbolt 4 port and one HDMI 2.0 output support external displays alongside the built-in 1920 x 1080 screen. Three USB-A 3.2 ports, a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 connection, RJ-45 Ethernet and an SD card slot cover most legacy peripherals. Buyers who need more internal storage or a dedicated graphics card should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 256GB NVMe drive and what step is often missed?

The drive slots into the internal M.2 connector; the step people skip is reinstalling the retention screw so the drive stays seated under vibration.

What maintenance will the 16GB memory need later?

The memory is soldered to the board, so no upgrade or replacement is possible; keep the vents clear to avoid thermal throttling.

What limit appears first on the Intel Core i5-1245U during sustained loads?

The 10-core processor hits its thermal ceiling before power limits, causing clock speeds to drop until the chassis cools.
