HP ProDesk 400 G1 SFF Desktop 2.80 GHz Celeron 8 GB 500 GB HDD Windows 10

ProDesk 400 G1 SFF

The HP ProDesk 400 G1 is a small-form-factor desktop built around a 2.80 GHz Intel Celeron dual-core processor with 8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. It ships with Windows 10 pre-installed and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 for display output. The chassis measures 3.9 by 13.9 by 14.9 inches and includes a DVD/RW drive. Connectivity covers USB 2.0, USB 3.0, VGA, DVI, Gigabit Ethernet, a serial RS-232 port and audio jacks.

Office and casual use

This system suits office workers, students or home users who need a compact, quiet PC for web browsing, document editing and light productivity. The integrated graphics and Celeron processor cannot handle modern gaming, video editing, 3D rendering or heavy multitasking. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance, more than 16 GB of RAM or solid-state storage should look at a different configuration.

16 GB RAM ceiling

The motherboard supports a maximum of 16 GB of memory, so the installed 8 GB can be doubled once but cannot grow beyond that limit. If your workloads already push 8 GB or you plan to run virtual machines, this ceiling will become a bottleneck. Verify that 16 GB meets your future needs before purchasing.
