Ultra-Compact Desktop Mini

The HP ProDesk 400 G4 Desktop Mini packs enterprise-grade components into a chassis smaller than a standard book. It targets office workers, home-office users and kiosk deployments that need a full Windows 11 Pro PC without sacrificing desk space. Buyers who require internal expansion slots or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

8 GB DDR4 and 256 GB SSD headroom

Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory keeps typical business multitasking, web browsing and HD streaming smooth. The 256 GB solid-state drive delivers fast boot times and quiet operation for the OS and core applications. Heavy local data sets, large media libraries or memory-hungry virtual machines will exceed the available capacity.

Upgrade from older SFF or tower units

This mini PC replaces bulky legacy desktops that use mechanical hard drives and earlier low-power processors. The jump is worthwhile when space is at a premium, silent operation matters or a VESA-mounted footprint simplifies deployment. It does not suit workloads needing user-replaceable add-in cards or higher sustained thermal performance.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-8500T work with my existing DDR4 memory sticks if I want to add more?

The system uses DDR4 memory; any additional modules must match that type and the board's supported speed.

How can I verify the i5-8500T is running correctly after I set up the Mini PC?

Open Task Manager and check the Performance tab; it should show 6 cores and 6 logical processors with the expected base frequency.

Does the box include a VGA or HDMI cable for my older monitor, or do I need to buy one?

The unit comes with a 65 W AC adapter and a USB WiFi adapter; video cables for DisplayPort, VGA, or HDMI are not included and must be purchased separately.
