Blade server with one Xeon X5675 hexa-core processor at 3.06 GHz and 12 GB DDR3 memory
The HP ProLiant BL490c G7 is a half-height blade designed for Intel Xeon X5675 processors running at 3.06 GHz. One six-core CPU with Hyper-Threading and 12 MB cache is installed, and the chassis supports a second processor. Standard memory is 12 GB of DDR3-1333 across 18 total slots, with an SDHC card reader included.
This blade fits environments that rely on 10 Gigabit Ethernet and integrated remote management for lights-out administration. Two PCIe x8 slots allow mezzanine expansion for additional networking or storage controllers. Buyers who require local hard drives, optical media or more than one USB 2.0 port should evaluate other form factors.
The onboard Matrox G200 graphics controller provides basic console output without consuming a mezzanine slot. The embedded Serial ATA controller supports RAID 0 and RAID 1 for internal drive mirroring or striping when drives are added. Remote management is included for out-of-band monitoring and control.

Yes, this blade must be installed in a compatible HP c-Class enclosure that provides power, cooling and the interconnect fabric for the 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 6.40 GT/s QuickPath links.
The server supports up to two processors; adding a second X5675 will enable the second socket and expand the DDR3 memory capacity across all 18 slots.
During POST the system will display the installed memory total, and the Integrated Lights-Out remote management interface will also report 12 GB of DDR3 SDRAM at PC3-10600 speed.
